My first experiences with galleries nearly 10 years ago taught me that representational work was a difficult sell. I was told people are more interested in the formal aspects of drawing than being boxed into the restrictions of representation. However, our capacity to recognize human likenesses is all too natural to simply push aside. Ignoring this hard-wired tendency and only producing non-objective work leaves the viewer in want for more. I do not wish to pit representational works against the abstract but simply to make a case for my interest in maintaining representational images
